LOST Season 5 Promo, Premiere Date

Thought I'd share the new trailer for LOST! It looks as awesome as ever! Apparently the video keeps getting pulled, so if this doesn't work try this link .

LOST Season Five Official Trailer #1 - video powered by Metacafe

The worst part about the trailer is when the text says "Died For" and who they show afterwards. But I'm not convinced until we see season 5 for sure!

Hope all you LOSTIES out there are doing well during this hiatus! Anything else significant that I find, you can be sure I'll post it! Otherwise, make sure you check back after the first episode airs! See you then and NAMASTE!

11/7/2008 - This just in, Lost Season 5 has it's premiere date! Wednesday January 21st 2009 8:00pm Eastern Time. It will be a 2 hour premiere, but I'm guessing the 1st hour will be a recap. However, it does sound like they're considering airing 2 episodes back to back! (ugh for me blogging but exciting nonetheless!!) So it's still to be determined whether the regular airtime will be 8:00 or 9:00pm. But I, for one, am glad to have it back on Wednesday nights! Check this link for more info.

11/10/2008 - Here's TV Guide's entry which suggests a 1 hour recap followed by the first 2 episodes. Blogging nightmare but still very exciting!!

Woah, that was intriguing...most of it was just a recap and then it got to the interesting bit, where the O6 were getting ready to go back...There is a safehouse involved!!

The bit that captivated me the most was the apparent return of The Beachcraft..falling..again..right after some guy jumps out of a hatch in a Devo Suit!! :P All capped off by Ben saying, "Thank God for Second Chances.."

Thanks for that Mike!!

Mike V. said...

No problem david! Yeah I agree, the "safehouse" was the big reveal of the trailer. Whether that's how they get back to the Island or just their place of operations while they're planning their return, we don't know for sure!

But yeah...crazy guy in the Hatch Suit is interesting. Looks like the suit that Kelvin was wearing in the season 2 finale. Speaking of which...when are we going to find how how HE got to the island and who he was working for????

Anonymous said...

Whoah ! That was awesome. I can't wait already !

There are so many people's stories and accounts that we need to be told, Kelvin is one of them...I hope they haven't forgotten about him!! I can't quite make out who it is that he is saying "boo!!" to, maybe Richard? Hard to say...

I am very intrigued by the Safehouse, I do like Safehouses. :) - I don't think it is a case of that being how they get back but where they can go to get away from the media attention and, of course Mr Abbaddon and his friends who is following them round...

Wow!!! A plane falling off the cliff again, Juliet uncovering the hatch, Hurley with a gun? Looks like the fun is about to begin - the Oceanic 6 are going back. Yay!!! I heard that Sawyer will be shirtless in the first 2 eps, thank you LOST!

Chris Stedman said...

It looks to me like moving the island possibly reset the island to before the Losties started digging and blowing up hatches and planes falling off the cliff. That might actually be Kelvin in the suit coming out of the hatch. Wouldn’t that be cool!

Mike V. said...

interesting thought stedman! Would be kinda cool...you never know what they're gonna do on that crazy island.

btw...just saw this on ausiello....kinda spoilerish if you don't want to know the titles of the first 5 episodes!

Question: I need to know what night and time Lost is on starting in Jan. '09. I need to select which evenings I'm teaching next semester, and I prefer to watch Lost live, not on DVR two hours later. -- Rosamaria

Ausiello: No decision has been made yet, but my gut is telling me it'll return to Thursdays at 10 pm. In related news, remember my scoop last week about Lance Reddick returning for an episode? Well, my Hawaii mole reports that he was shooting scenes in a hospital with Charles Widmore. Theorizes Doc Jensen: "If you believe, as I do, that Charles Widmore has been chasing after the Island in order to cheat death by exploiting its time-travel properties, my guess is that Daddy Devilbucks was telling his mysterious henchman, ‘Would you please hurry your ass up and find me that Island?! I'm dyin' here!'"

Question: More Lost scoop, please! -- Dennis

Ausiello: In case you didn't see it, here are the official titles for the first six episodes. Let the speculation begin!
Episode 5.01 - Because You Left
Episode 5.02 - The Lie
Episode 5.03 - Jughead
Episode 5.04 - The Little Prince
Episode 5.05 - This Place Is Death
Episode 5.06 - The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham

Let's hurry up and get to that episode 6! lol

Just read Ausiello myself !

Interesting.

Ausiello has a tidbit in a vid - not a big one or anything.

But - if any of you are following the Ausiello vs. Annie saga you'll be laughing !

Season 5 Premiere Date!

"'Lost' season 5 gets a premiere date

Categories: TV Biz

We don't know where the Island went -- but now know when we'll be seeing it again. ABC insiders say that the fifth season of the Emmy-nominated cypto-drama will premiere with a two-hour event on Jan. 21, 2009, at 8 p.m. That's a Wednesday, in case you don't know next year's calendar by heart, which means that Lost will be returning to its original day-of-the-week slot. (Last season, it aired on Thursday nights.)

While plans are still being finalized, sources indicate Lost will launch with its first two episodes aired back-to-back, not a single, two-hour opus like its season finales. (Should ABC reconsider the plan, look for the first hour of the two-hour event to be some kind of recap special.) Still TBD: if Lost will be making 8 p.m. its weekly Wednesday berth. An 8 p.m. start means the show will be competing against (gulp) Fox's American Idol. At 9 p.m., Lost will be tangling with Fox's new House-meets-The Mentalist procedural, Lie To Me, which will premiere the same night as Lost's return. When we get the regular time slot thing nailed down, we'll let you know. -- Additional reporting by Michael Ausiello and Lynette Rice

More Background on the character Reiko will be playing:

http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2008/11/lost-scoop-myst.html

"Reiko Aylesworth shouldn't have any trouble keeping her trap shut when it comes to the big mystery surrounding her new Lost character, the smart and charismatic Amy. But it's not the gag order imposed on her by Team Darlton that's preventing her from telling all. It's the fact that…well, she can barely straighten out the plot twists herself.

"I know the show, but I have to say, I didn't quite understand everything [the writers] were telling me," confesses the actress, best known for her role as 24's late CTU director, Michelle Dessler. "But it sounds like it's going to be great stuff. I'm just excited to do something other than getting people files and carrying clipboards [like on 24]."

One theory making the rounds is that Amy, who'll be introduced during the show's fifth season (debuting Wednesday, Jan. 21), will be revealed to be someone from the early days of the Dharma Initiative. (FYI: For those playing along at home, the answer to last week's Ask Ausiello asterisk quiz is she's "with Dharma.) That would seem to confirm buzz that Ben (Michael Emerson) transported the island and all of its inhabitants back to the '70s in last May's finale.

At least Aylesworth can say with near certainty that Amy's love life will be complicated. "There's definitely some conflict with the suitors," she teases. Wait a second -- suitors, as in plural? How literal will the show's depiction of the '70s be? "Obviously, we want that to be a surprise," says executive producer Carlton Cuse. " Let's just say her role will be emotional."
"

Chris Stedman said...

Did anyone else do the dharma initiative recruitment over the break? Turns out I’m qualified to be a radio operator. Go figure

Mike V. said...

Hey stedman, I never did do the Dharma recruitment thing. I tend to get bored with their online sidequests. Not sure why! But it was funny to see the result on the comic-con videos!

Here's some Doc Jensen Ramblings...i didn't read it yet but thought I'd share the link!

fyi, I added the season 5 Promo Pic to the bottom of the blog. It's a good time!

Anonymous said...

Interesting promo. Last season was then on the island on top and a city reflected on the bottom in the water. This time it's a city to the left and the island to the right ! Hmmm !

About to go read Doc's article - thanks for posting the link !

Oh man ! Is it saying something that Jin in not in the right side with the others on the island !?! I keep hoping he's alive.

Mike V. said...

Yeah...based on Comic-Con, Team Darlton said they had nothing really to do with the season 4 promo pic....but they believed it was just indicating that there were 2 stories to tell...(one off the island and one on)....probably the same concept with this one except it will be more distintive this year who will take place in each story!

Not sure about the Jin thing! My guess is they don't want to tip their hand too early on whether he's alive or dead. But I really don't know how you survive an explosion like that! lol I hope he did but it would be a tough one. I am sure he'll be involved in one way or another this season!

Anonymous said...

Yeah - guess we'll be seeing Jin in flashback form.

Tv Guide today has an extended new season promo. Not alot of new stuff - but an interesting new subliminal. The article talks about it as well.

more ausiello LOST scoop...nothing TOO exciting lol

"Oh, don't get your knickers in a knot! Naveen Andrews isn't leaving Lost. However, if my hunch is correct, in this season's 10th episode -- a Sayid-centric outing that starts shooting later this week -- a new actor will be playing his part.

"Whatchutalkinbout', Willis?" you say?

Follow along now: A casting call has gone out for the roles of a father and his 12- and 8-year-old sons, all of whom, I'm told, will have to be fluent in Arabic. So wouldn't a logical assumption be that the hotheaded dad is Sayid's pop and the older boy, a sensitive type who's painfully aware that he lets down his formidable paterfamilias, is the future assassin himself?

That's what I thought, too! The hour promises to be a real crusher, with Dad teaching his elder son the kind of lesson in manhood that I suspect inflicts lifelong emotional scars.

Are you ready for Sayid's untold story to be told? Or are you afraid that it will be so intense, it'll qualify as must-wince TV? Comment away below! (Additional reporting by Andy Patrick) "

TV Guide has a clip of Kate and Aaron from Season 5! Good times!

http://www.tvguide.com/News/Lost-Premiere-Video-1000471.aspx

I'll post to the blog entry.

Yum! Loved the new clip with Kate and Aaron.

So - can't wait to find out who the 'client' is. Would Jack and Ben go this far to get Kate to willingly go back to the island in order to keep Aaron? Did someone in Claire's family find out?

Can't wait to find out !

Mike V. said...

Didn't even think of that (Jack and Ben being the client)! Since there are more of these videos coming, I decided to post a new Blog entry! Exciting stuff!
